One of the main things my son and I have in common is a love for the water and outdoors so it’s always a great day when I get to sit in my happy place and watch him surf.

Tropical Tuesday :: My Beach
This tropical post consists of pics from my favorite local beach spot; Deerfield Beach, FL. The ocean has been flat for majority of this week which means perfect morning paddleboarding sessions. There’s nothing better than gliding through the water as you watch the sunset above and the beautiful ocean and sea life below. This is truly my happy place.
Birthday Celebration :: Day 3
Day three of the birthday celebration fell on President’s Day which meant that the kids had off of school. So, the hubs and I took off work and headed down to the keys for the day. We spent the day at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in Key Largo. I did a ton of paddleboarding. We ended the day at Bayside Grille to eat and watch the sunset. Sunsets in the keys are breathtaking. Check out day 3 pics below.
Birthday Celebration :: Day 1
In our family, birthday’s are important. They are so important that we not only celebrate your actual birthday, we celebrate your entire birthday weekend. If your birthday doesn’t fall on the weekend, you get to choose the weekend before or the weekend after to celebrate.
The rule is that during your birthday weekend, you get to choose what the entire family does, where we eat, etc. Of course, since my most favorite activity is paddleboarding, my weekend involved a lot of this activity. The coolest thing is that my birthday fell on a three day weekend. So, I got to celebrate for three days instead of just two!
The first day of the weekend, we went about an hour north to paddle around Jupiter Island (Florida), do some fishing from the beach, fishing from the paddleboards and simply relaxing on the beach. Check out the pics from day one of my birthday celebration.
