  1. I’m excited to try one of your half-marathon plans. I’m wondering what the difference is between a regular run and a “pace” run on the novice plan. Also, for the cross-training days would this be a day to lift or do some other aerobic activity besides running?

    • Yay! I’m glad you’re going to train for a half marathon. A “pace” run is running that particular run at the pace you expect to run the entire half marathon, i.e. a 10 minute mile pace. Cycling and swimming are good cross training exercises for runners but you want to do some weight lifting as well as it will improve your running and endurance.
