DIY : Leather Pouch Necklace

This necklace was so fun to make. I really enjoyed coming up with my own paint design for the front. Check out the step-by-step guide below.

DIY Leather Pouch Necklace - Supplies SMALL
Supplies: leather material, leather or suede cord, nylon string, small button, large sewing needle, scissors and paint.

DIY Leather Pouch Necklace - Step 1&2 SMALL
Step 1: Measure and draw out a rectangle on the back of the material.  I did 3 x 5.

Step 2: Cut rectangle rounding the edges.

Step 3: Pinch each edge and sew on the inside.

Step 4: Close up the flap and sew up each side.

Step 5: Sew the button at the bottom center of the pouch.

Step 6: Paint any design you like on the flap that will close over the top.

Step 7: Sew in a loop (for the button) at the top center of the flap that will close over the top.

Step 8: Cut two slits at the top of the pouch (after its buttoned) and string the leather cord through.  Tie your cord off at the top to the length you’d like.
