I am typically the type of person that needs at least 8 hours of sleep; 9 or 10 is even better.  I can scrape by one night here and there with 7 hours sleep if need be.  If I get less than 7 hours sleep, I cannot guarantee what type of person you will encounter.  Not getting enough sleep literally makes me feel like I’m sick.  This is forever my struggle as I always want to get up and head to the beach for a sunrise paddle before work.  In order to do this, I have to get out of bed at 5:30am.

I am currently training for a paddleboard race because I’m on a race team for a local board manufacturer.  This means that I really need to get my butt out of bed and get on the water.  I will usually find myself paddling the canals as the beach is usually not calm enough but this week was an exception with a flat ocean almost every day.  I always HATE getting out of bed before the sun but after I’m out on that water paddling, watching the sunrise above and watching the sea life below in the clear blue water, I am forever grateful.  There is no better feeling.  It is a natural high and sets my day off just right.
